    1. The 64-bit option supports extremly large data sets, making use of the larger RAM available with current computer standards as well as multicore processors to manage larger data collections efficiently.

A common task - copying worksheet contents (text and numbers) from one sheet into another - is made easier. While this ability has existed in previous versions, we can now preview to see how the data will appear before pasted. No more trying one paste option after another to get the desired result. In the Paste Options palette, point to any of the icons to switch between options.

With the ribbon interface design of Excel 2007, we could add or remove commands on the Quick Access Toolbar, but in Excel 2010, we have many more options. Hide or display built in ribbon tabs, change the order, and add custom tabs or groups. Custom groups allow easy access to existing ribbon commands as well as custom commands running macros stored in the workbook.

Pivot Tables, used to organize and analyze your data so it can be evaluated based on a number of different variables, can now be filtered. Slicers visually indicate which values appear or are hidden in a Pivot Table. Filtering options are extended by introducing search filters.

Improved conditional formatting: you can create custom icon sets from the included icons as well as define conditions that display no icon in the cell. Also, you can create conditional formats that refer to values on other worksheets. In previous versions, conditional formats could only refer to values on the same worksheet.

Sparklines: visual representations of data with one click. Unlike charts, sparklines are not objects. A sparkline is a small chart display in the background of a cell, getting its data from specified cells to illustrate that data visually.

Inserted images can be modified by using the editing tools built into Excel 2010. For example, you can remove the background elements of an image and place it in front of a new background.

Updated equation designer allows creation of any equation you require. Several common equations are built in (quadratic formula and Pythagorean theorem, for example) along with numerous templates that can be used to create custom equations easily.
